IVF is an advanced reproductive procedure that has given millions of parents the option to have biological children. Cryopreservation is used in the IVF process to cool egg cells, sperm cells, and embryos in liquid nitrogen for long-term storage.
The current standard cryopreservation method for IVF requires a high concentration of toxic cryoprotectant agent. While effective against damage caused by ice, its toxicity causes severe cell shrinkage and cell wall damage that can impair reproductive cell health.
