XT-NoVo® is a fully defined sub-zero biopreservation solution for fresh, on‑demand biologics. It contains synthetic mimics of natural antifreeze proteins, supports reduced metabolic demand, and prevents ice formation at −5°C while retaining structural and functional integrity without DMSO or other cytotoxic cryoprotectants.

Proven Results

Functional recovery of heart grafts following 24 hours of ischemia

After 24 hours of ischemia, heart grafts perserved with XT-NoVo® and TimeSeal® at -5°C maintained functional survival during Langendorff perfusion and post-transplant, outperforming HTK preservation at 4°C, which failed to support graft survival. 

XT-NoVo® preserves "test-ready" 3D tissue-on-chip models across routine QC readouts

Viability and functional performance of HEPG-2 spheroids and air–liquid interface (ALI) airway models were evaluated after preservation in XT-NoVo® at −5°C, compared with conventional hypothermic storage. XT-NoVo® preserves high viability across HEPG-2 spheroids and ALI airway models, with stronger functional output (increased albumin secretion) in spheroids and maintained key barrier architecture (i.e. tight junctions) in ALI models.

Human islets function preserved over five days

Human islet function was assessed after five days of preservation in XT-NoVo® at -5°C and compared with standard-of-care UW solution at 4°C. Islets preserved in XT-NoVo® exhibit robust glucose-stimulated C-peptide secretion (left) and stimulation index values (right) within the range of fresh islets, meeting regulatory acceptance criteria and outperforming conventional hypothermic storage.
